Extra-curricular activities
Students’ talents develope during extra-curricular activities.
- School offers: painting study group, theatre group, „Hard-Working Hands” group, vocally instrumental ensemble, drafts group, sport group, folk dance collective, woodworking group, „Finger works” group.
- In 2011 folk dance collective had been created and beautiful National costumes ha been bought.
- The students of the school actively participate in different level cultural, vocational training events and sport competitions.
- School’s athletes had participated in European and World Special Olympics in Austria, Canada, the USA, Nethterlands, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, China, Italy, Greece- winning awarded places in each Olympics.
- In 2011/2012 there had been gained National cups between special schools in skiing, men’s basketball, drafts, novuss, women’s football, floorball, bouling.
- Vocal ensemble „Balozi” regularly gives concerts both in regional schools, and in appenage and state’s events – festivals, concerts, contests. The ensemble had been a laureate of festivals’ for children with special needs „Solis” and „Nac lidzas" and participated in the international festival in Poland.
- Sveki school has its own newspaper „Skolas balss”.
Sveki school is proud with its traditions, which had developed over the years. Students’ favorite events are „Teatris muzika”, Christmas events, Valentine’s Day, thematic afternoons of boarding groups, Welcome Day. There are movie afternoons every week.
Sveki school also has developed a ood cooperation with Latvian Orphans Fund.
